VJH staff amplifies the meaning of team work

VERNON – Judy Parkes, Supervisor Registration Services at Vernon Jubilee Hospital (VJH), has good reason to be proud of three of her staff members for going the extra mile and thinking out of the box.

Karen Menhinick, Grace St. Eloi, and Stacey Iverson created a process for documentation to assist in registering patients when the Meditech Patient Registration program is unavailable.

“VJH Patient Registration staff work very closely with the ER Nursing Unit assistants. As a team, they worked together to assist with maintaining the integrity of a patient’s health record by creating a document that easily identifies the patient’s demographics, health record number, and special indicators for clinicians,” says Judy.

This process was presented recently to the Registration Leadership for Interior Health and was adopted in part by all of the 22 hospital sites.

“These three staff members demonstrate what working together really means!” continues Judy.

Thank you for showcasing great initiative Karen, Grace, and Stacey.
